Discover exciting new ways of thinking about water — through visual images and verbal imagery — with a dynamic multimedia presentation by Jeff Volk.
For 25 years, Volk has been popularizing the science of Cymatics, using simple physics experiments to demonstrate how the unseen forces of sound vibration can animate inert matter into lifelike flowing forms. Spanning a wide range of topics, his work offers a broader perspective, integrating disparate ideas in ways that only poetry can. Reid Drum, sculptor and adjunct faculty at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, caps off the program with a demonstration of his newly redesigned "sonic gondola," which generates and projects 3-D wave patterns in real time
Made possible by the Margaret Nowell Graham Memorial Lecture Fund.
